ONE CENTURY: Portraits of centenarians and the activities that bring them joy - Part 2

JEAN GODFREY ~ 100

It’s always cold on my birthday, you can count on that!

Jean enjoys getting her haircut at the salon. It’s her big birthday this week and it was 1F/-18C when she arrived for her monthly appointment.

St. Paul, MN, USA.

MIREILLE WILMART - 101

Je participe à toutes les activités qui me sont proposées. ~ I participate in all the activities that are offered.

Mireille is so lovely and witty. She is amazingly young at heart and plays cards every afternoon.

Cabourg, Normandy, France.

WILLIAM PATTEN - 105

I’ve done about everything I wanted to do.

Bill is a charmer with the most endearing sense of humor. He completed 35 missions during WWII as a pilot for the 97th Bombardment Group in the 15th American Air Force. He loves to talk about his life with the most amazing detail and accuracy. He walks without any help, goes to the gym and enjoys resting on his favorite chair with Raimi.

Osceola, WI, USA.

More centenarians will be featured soon. You can visit the project gallery here.

New Possibilities

I love Mondays. My favorite season is spring. I always buy a new notebook when it’s back-to-school time. Opening a new planner on January 1 is a thrill. What do all these experiences have in common? A sense of renewal and new possibilities.

2023 was another tough year on a global level, I doubt 2024 will magically see world peace and immediate respect for our planet. But, for my part, I will continue to document beautiful moments of everyday life with my camera and share them with you.

As we step into the new year, I extend my wishes for a year filled with creativity and inspiration.

Please enjoy a few moments of everyday life that caught my eye in 2023. All seen at 23mm with my Fujifilm X100V.
