Hit The Streets 169: YES WE DID with Lawrence Jackson

Valerie Jardin August 20, 2020

TAKE A LISTEN HERE, ON ITUNES, SPOTIFY, GOOGLE PLAY, ETC.

IN THIS EPISODE…

Valérie shares a conversation with Lawrence Jackson, one of the official White House photographers during the Obama presidency and author of YES WE DID, Photos and behind the scenes stories celebrating our first African American President.

BIO

I’m a D.C. based photographer who covers news, events, editorial, portrait and lifestyle photography.

My career has taken me from the small town fairs of rural Virginia to meetings in the Oval Office of the White House and beyond.  I love that photography has the power to inform, inspire and evoke emotion- sometimes all three things happen in one picture.

There’s always a chance to capture something different when picking up a camera. Whether it’s through work assignment or just spending time with my family. Photography helps us to appreciate the moment so that it will resonate with us a little bit longer.
