Valerie Jardin December 20, 2017

Take a listen here or on iTunes, Google Play, etc.

My guest today is photographer Bill Young. He tells us how his Instagram account went viral overnight from a simple tweet from his daughter... Enjoy!

Bio

Bill Young is a corporate pilot and a professional photographer.  His aviation career began after college in 1990 where he was commissioned as an Naval Officer and served for 10 years as a Naval Aviator.  After the Navy he was hired by an airline but was furloughed after the 9/11 attacks.  Since 2002 he has been travelling worldwide as a corporate pilot.

His photography career began about a decade ago, and Bill mostly concentrates on portrait, product, street and travel photography. www.BillYoungImage.com  His photography Instagram is @BillYoungPhoto .

In 2015, Bill created @MyHotelCarpet IG account after noticing the often intricate and vibrant patterns hotels feature in their properties.  His daughter Jill Young (IG and Twitter both @JillisYoung (currently a sophomore Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting major at the University of Texas Austin) enjoyed the IG account and put out a tweet in November 2017 saying “All I Want For Christmas is for my Dad’s hotel carpet Instagram to go viral.”  Within a couple weeks it went from 83 followers to over 680K. Bill and his wife Heidi reside in Dallas Texas.
