In this episode

Valerie shares a conversation with German photographer Carsten Bruhn. He talks about his latest project titled Not the Only Gay in the City.

Bio

Facts are told quickly: Born in Kiel/Germany in 1965, I moved to Hamburg in 2001 and since 2013 I’ve been married to my husband. I practically lead two lives. One as a full-time teacher, full of energy and passion for my dream job. The other as a photographer. Despite being an amateur and basically an autodidact, I pursue this “hobby“ with just the same amount of energy and passion. I see through my lens, with or without camera. Anything beautiful, architecture, color or b/w, you name it - I took and take pictures of it. But more and more I’m into people photography. Whether it is an arranged portrait or a spontaneous candid camera picture: being human and presenting this in my pictures is what fascinates me. Often but not exclusively, those pictures show a diverse and queer life. But it is always with respect and affection that I take pictures.
